Day 1 – Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu (55 km / 1.5 hrs)
Arrive at Paro International Airport (the world’s most scenic landing!).
Meet and greet by local Bhutanese representative.
Drive to Thimphu, the charming capital city of Bhutan.
En route visit:
Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge built by the legendary Thangtong Gyalpo.
Check in at hotel.
Evening leisure walk at Thimphu Main Street and local handicraft shops.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full-day Thimphu city tour covering:
Memorial Chorten (built in memory of the 3rd King)
Buddha Dordenma – a gigantic Buddha statue overlooking Thimphu Valley
Tashichho Dzong – the seat of government and the king’s office
Folk Heritage Museum and National Library
Handicraft Emporium for Bhutanese art and textiles
Evening free for leisure.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha Excursion (85 km / 3 hrs one way )
Breakfast and drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan.
En route stop at Dochula Pass (10,000 ft) – spectacular panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayas and 108 chortens.
Visit:
Punakha Dzong – one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses, built at the confluence of two rivers.
Suspension Bridge – one of the longest in Bhutan.
Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) – dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley.
Return to Thimphu in the evening.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 04: Thimphu – Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive back to Paro.
Visit:
Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) – a fine example of Bhutanese architecture.
Ta Dzong (National Museum) – houses antique thangkas and relics.
Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples (7th century).
Afternoon: optional short hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) viewpoint (full hike approx. 4–5 hrs round trip, optional).
Evening free for leisure and souvenir shopping.
Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 05: Departure
Breakfast at hotel.
Transfer to Paro Airport for your return flight.
